Sopra HR supports Air France in modernising its payroll management

On 12 December 2025

In a constantly evolving sector, Air France continues its ambitious digital transformation. By modernising payroll management through migration to the Cloud, the airline has taken a strategic step forward to strengthen operational efficiency.

A transformation driv en by p erformance

Founded in 1933, Air France is a major player in global air transport. With more than 40,000 employees, the airline operates in three key areas: passenger transport, cargo, and aircraft maintenance. As part of its “Move to Cloud” strategy, Air France has chosen to modernise its HR tools to meet challenges of flexibility, security, and innovation.

A successful m igration project

Launched in July 2024, the payroll migration project, which brought together a multidisciplinary team, was successfully completed in summer 2025. This paradigm shift enables Air France to benefit from a scalable infrastructure, enhanced data protection, and continuous technology updates.

The transition, covering all employees, was carried out rigorously, on schedule, and without service interruption. The project methodology, close collaboration between stakeholders, and daily exchanges ensured responsiveness and guaranteed success.

A trusted p artnership with Sopra HR

To deliver this transformation, Air France relied on its long-standing partner Sopra HR. For many years, the airline has used Sopra HR’s solution for payroll management, successfully producing 40,000 payslips each month. This trusted relationship enabled a controlled migration path, ensuring service continuity and process reliability. The project governance, managed under a “dual control” approach, was praised for its rigour and efficiency.

This project is a real success. Sopra HR’s expertise in project management and AMOA support was decisive. We were able to move forward with confidence, thanks to clear governance and smooth communication. This collaborative model is a benchmark we aim to replicate for other internal projects.”— Ekbel Bouzgarrou , CIO Air France KLM

Thanks to this Cloud migration, Air France now benefits from:

  • Greater flexibility in payroll management
  • Enhanced security for sensitive data
  • Continuous scalability of tools
  • Guaranteed service continuity throughout the project
  • A 30% reduction in processing times

This success demonstrates Air France’s ability to anticipate industry changes and adapt with agility to new technological challenges.
